From 3rd July 2017, Etihad Airways are making changes to their Chauffeur Service.
The free service will continue in the UAE for eligible First and Business Class passengers but will become a paid for service at all other destination.
If you have booked a flight already the free chauffeur service is still available but not if your ticket has to be re-issued.
Labelling the changes as ‘introducing a series of changes designed to offer increased value and flexibility based on customer feedback’ is more likely to be cost cutting exercise.
The airline is also making dedicated Etihad Lounges available to Economy Class passengers for a fee. Unfortunately, it is liable to damage the premium services on offer to Business and First Class guests.
My personal view is that I will think twice about flying Etihad Airways from Manchester Airport in the future.
The Etihad Chauffeur Service and Lounge have been a selling point in the past but with the new changes be implemented I believe other airlines offer a better premium product from Manchester using newer aircraft and updated premium cabins.
